Nom originaire d'Algérie (régions d'Alger et de Constantine), très souvent porté par des Juifs séfarades. Variantes : Aouizerat, Aouizrat, Aouizrate, et sans doute aussi Avizrat. Il est apparemment berbère, mais je ne saurais en dire vraiment plus. S'il s'agit d'un toponyme, on peut éventuellement penser à une localité marocaine appelée Aouzert. je suis aussi frappé par la ressemblance avec le mot arabe "wizarat", qui signifie "ministère", et qui a peut-être aussi désigné une circonscription administrative.
